Symptom
A user reports that an approvable document generated an approval flow, but the flow does not advance because no node is active — a node stays in a pending state and never becomes active, so no approver can act on it and the document does not move forward. This can occur in either of the following ways:
- The first node stays pending immediately after submission and never becomes active.
- A subsequent node in the middle of the flow stays pending and never becomes active after the preceding stage was approved — the earlier approver acted, but the next node did not transition to active.
