3830602 - Mid-period PF and EWF changes: contributions not prorated

Symptom

In SAP ERP Thailand payroll, the system does not prorate Provident Fund (PF) or Employee Welfare Fund (EWF) contributions when fund enrollment changes take effect mid-period. The full period's contribution is calculated regardless of when the enrollment change becomes effective within the period.

This behaviour occurs in the following scenarios:

  • Mid-period fund conversion — when an employee switches from PF to EWF or from EWF to PF with an effective date that falls within a payroll period, the system calculates the full period's contribution for a single fund, with no split across the days in each scheme.
  • Mid-period EWF enrollment (part-time employees) — when a part-time employee's EWF enrollment effective date falls within an active payroll period rather than on the first day, the system calculates EWF contributions on the total amount paid on the payment date, without accounting for the enrollment start date.
