3830610 - Auto Reverse group journal entries not posted after workflow approval in Group Reporting

Symptom

Documents configured with Auto Reverse are not posted when processed through workflow, but posting succeeds when workflow is not involved.

The same configuration worked previously (for example, earlier in the year) and began failing after a recent release.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Configure a group journal entry document type (for example, 31) with Auto Reverse enabled.
  2. Create a group journal entry and submit it to workflow for approval.
  3. Approve the workflow.
  4. Observe that the document is not posted.

Cause

Known regression issue causing a conflict between workflow approval and Auto Reverse for group journal entries.

Resolution

  1. Implement the hotfix that addresses this regression: HotFix 5 (HFC05). The fix is available in HotFix 5 (HFC05). HFC05 Release to Host (RTH) is planned for 8 October 2026.
  2. After HFC05 is deployed to the tenant per the standard Release-to-Host schedule, retest posting of group journal entries with Auto Reverse through workflow.
  3. If the issue persists after HFC05 is available and applied, collect a reproducible example and open a support case referencing this KBA.
