3830642 - Import of story via Content Network from source to target tenant fails with “Database Operation Failed" in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• Transporting content from 'Dev source' tenant to 'Prod target' tenant (including only a specific story) via 'Content Network' fails.
• Import shows the error message: “Database Operation Failed”.
• Importing other stories from 'Dev' to 'Prod' tenant does not cause any issues.
• Transporting stories from 'Prod' to 'Dev' tenant and importing them into 'Dev' was successful.

SAP Analytics Cloud (2026.8.10)

1. Modify a story in the 'Dev source' tenant.
2. Export the story via Content Network to the 'Prod target' tenant.
3. Attempt to import this story into this target tenant.
   >> Observe the import failure with the error “Database Operation Failed”.
   
   

• The story references a Data Source/Model does not present in Production, (there is a conflict with an existing Production dependency object (Model/Dataset) that the Dev-exported package is attempting to overwrite) or an authorization failure occurred during the import.
• Note: The fact that transporting content from Prod → Dev works, but Dev → Prod fails, suggests that Production has something slightly different or missing that the Dev story depends on.

1. As first attempt: Re-export the story from Dev (after identifying its Technical Name/ID) along with its dependencies
2. In the target tenant, re-run the import of the entire package containing the Folder, referenced models, and the affected story into Prod tenant.
   >> Note: If this time it failed (receiving a "Warming" message not "Error" in the story), then: 
3. As the second attempt: Re-import only the story (do not include all dependent content)
4. In the import dialog, under "Overwrite options", enable “Remove Permissions”.
5. Confirm the overwrite by typing “YES” when prompted.
6. Proceed with the import
   >> Result: The story has been successfully imported in Production system.
