3830760 - Partial Quantity Release from Solution Order Service Contract Items Is Not Supported in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

When releasing a partial quantity of a service contract item from a Solution Order, the system does not create a corresponding Service Contract for the released quantity.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open "Manage Solution Order" App.
  2. Create a Solution Order with a service contract item, for example, quantity 100.
  3. Try to release a partial quantity, for example, 30.
  4. Observe that the partial quantity cannot be released and no corresponding Service Contract is created.

Cause

Standard system behavior.

Resolution

Currently, there is no standard functionality available to release a partial quantity from a Solution Order service contract item.

The complete quantity of the relevant service contract item must be released according to the available standard process.
