3830939 - Data visible in 'View' mode but missing in 'Edit' mode for story tables in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • When opening an ODE story built on default model resources shows tables and data correctly in 'View' mode, but NO data is visible in 'Edit' mode.
  • In 'Edit' mode, widgets’ source details are not visible.
  • No specific error messages or error codes are displayed.

Environment

SAP Analytics cloud (2026.15.6)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SAC System
  2. Open the affected story
    >> Story is opened in 'View' mode without issues: Story's tables and data appear as expected.
  3. Switch this story to 'Edit' mode
    >> Notice: No data is shown in the tables & widgets’ source details are not visible.

Cause

SAC Old tables limitation.

Resolution

Adopt the "New Table Build Experience" for existing stories, as ongoing enhancements are focused on the new experience, and the previous/old table experience is planned for deprecation.
