3831079 - Start Date dialog in Schedule Maintenance Plan shows time in UTC Instead of User time zone in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

In the Schedule Maintenance Plan app, when starting a maintenance call, the Start Date dialog auto-populates the Completion date/time using UTC instead of the logged-in user's local time zone.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on with the user profile time zone set to a non-UTC local time zone (for example, Asia/Kolkata).
  2. Open the Schedule Maintenance Plan app and open any maintenance plan with a scheduled call.
  3. Select a scheduled call and choose Start in cycle to open the Start Date dialog.
  4. Observe that the Completion date and Completion Time fields display the current UTC time instead of the user’s local time.

Cause

The Schedule Maintenance Plan app stores and displays relevant date/time values in UTC. This aligns with the system design where UTC is used in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Web GUI applications showing date in UTC time zone is by system design.

Resolution

This behavior is by design. The Start Date dialog in the Schedule Maintenance Plan app displays times in UTC.

Use Fiori application Manage Maintenance Plan instead which displays date in user's time zone.

If applying the user’s local time zone is required by the Business, user need to submit a feature request via the Customer Influence channel to enable user time zone handling (for example, in the Plan Schedule section of the Manage Maintenance Plan app).
