3831333 - CBC: 'No authorization to start the UI for transaction S_ER1_70000701' when opening Material Field Length Extension in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

In CBC during Configure Your Business Processes, selecting Material Field Length Extension returns error: “No authorization to start the UI for transaction S_ER1_70000701”.

In CBC, open Configure Your Business Processes and select Material Field Length Extension; the message “No authorization to start the UI for transaction S_ER1_70000701” appears.

The user’s business role is missing the required business catalog SAP_CA_BC_IC_LND_CMD_PR0_PC or SAP_CA_BC_IC_LND_CMD_PRD_PC, leading to the “No authorization to start the UI for transaction” message in CBC.

1. Add business catalog SAP_CA_BC_IC_LND_CMD_PR0_PC or SAP_CA_BC_IC_LND_CMD_PRD_PC to the BPC_EXPERT business role or the equivalent role in use.
2. Ensure the role has Write Access set to Unrestricted for this catalog to allow editing.
3. If the catalog is already assigned and access is Unrestricted but the error persists, raise a case with component CA-GTF-TS-LO and inform the affected CBC users.
