3831476 - Opportunity Approval Popup Cannot Enforce Mandatory Comment or Display Additional Fields

When using the Opportunity approval process in SAP Sales Cloud Version 2, the following behaviors are observed:

1. The comment/note field in the Approval or Reject popup cannot be configured as mandatory. Approvers and rejectors can submit the popup without entering any comment.
2. Additional Opportunity fields (for example: Opportunity Name, or business-relevant custom fields) cannot be displayed in the approval popup dialog. Only the default fields are shown.

No configuration option is available in the standard system to change either behavior.

• SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2

1. Set up an approval process for Opportunities in SAP Sales Cloud Version 2.

2. Submit an Opportunity for approval.

3. In the Approval or Reject popup dialog, attempt to enforce the comment/note field as mandatory.

   Result: No mandatory field configuration is available. The comment field remains optional.

4. Attempt to add additional Opportunity fields (such as Opportunity Name or a custom business field) to the approval popup dialog.

   Result: No configuration option exists to display additional fields in the popup.

Expected Result: The comment field should be configurable as mandatory, and additional Opportunity fields should be displayable in the approval popup

The Approval/Reject pop-up dialogue for Opportunity approvals in SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 has a fixed structure.

The current product design does not support:

• Mandatory comment configuration: The comment/note field in the pop-up is optional by design and cannot be enforced as required through standard configuration.
• Additional field display: The pop-up dialogue does not support the addition of Opportunity fields or custom fields beyond the default layout.

These are current product scope limitations for which no standard workaround is available.

There is no standard configuration available to make the comment field mandatory or to display additional fields in the Opportunity Approval/Reject popup in the current version of SAP Sales Cloud Version 2.

If either capability is required for your business process, submit an enhancement request through the SAP Influence Portal for SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2. The Product Management team will review and evaluate the request for potential inclusion in a future product release.
