3831509 - TMC: Transaction code STMC returns instance creation error

Symptom

  • Transaction code STMC returns instance creation error. After the first click, it is gone.

    e.g. Error while creating instance; TMS_IOSFAA5FXUP6BBE4XPE2H3NQKA not found in /STMC/TM_SYS.TM_SYS_ID

  • Technical Monitoring apps in the Fiori launchpad returns with "load failed" error as well.
    Http trace includes similar creating instance error.

Reproducing the Issue

Run transaction code STMC

Cause

  • Inconsistent or orphaned Technical Monitoring topology objects

Resolution

  1. Transaction code SE38 -> /STMC/RS_TM_ADMIN

  2. Operation 'Global Cleanup' to ged rid of orphaned topology objects

  3. For System types 'DBMS', 'DBMS_INST and 'DBMS_GRP', the operation 'Delete physical'

  4. For System type 'APPLSYS', the operation 'Synchronize(Forced)'
