Symptom
Generate Events with Wizard not retaining the work files from the Template.
Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the planning calendar.
- Create a new process.
- Create a general task and assign the process as the parent process.
- Assign a work file to the task and save it.
- Save the process as a template.
- Open the template and verify the work files are still assigned and visible.
- Return to the planning calendar and start the event creation wizard.
- Create a new process.
- Select the context with a model, a driving dimension, and a filter.
- Select event types from the template created earlier.
- Leave the people section unchanged.
- Keep the additional settings as they are.
- Select the Generate button in the preview section.
- Open a generated event’s task and check the work file section: it is empty although the template task had a work file.
Cause
The behavior is working as designed from SAC perspective.
Resolution
From SAC perspective, the UI of the Wizard states under Step 3 that only the Event Types are taken from the template.
"Generated Event Types for Leaf Members:
[…]
From Template
[…]"
The attached work files of the events in the template are not considered during generation with the wizard.
