Symptom
In Create Supplier Invoice - Advanced (MIRO), the user selects multiple freight orders (FOs) for the same supplier to post a single supplier invoice and asks what the maximum number of FOs per invoice is. No error message is reported and no limit is documented.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the app Create Supplier Invoice - Advanced (MIRO).
- Enter the company code, invoice date, reference, gross amount, and the supplier.
- In the Assignment section, choose Freight Order as the reference document category.
- Select More Allocation Criteria and assign multiple freight orders.
Cause
There is no officially documented maximum number of Freight Orders that can be selected and processed within a single supplier invoice for one supplier in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. Users can include multiple FOs as long as they pertain to the same supplier and the document remains technically postable.
Resolution
To conclude, there is no official documentation regarding maximum number of Freight Orders that can be selected and processed within a single supplier invoice for one supplier in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. Users can include multiple FOs as long as they pertain to the same supplier and the document remains technically postable.
Practical constraints:
-
- Item volume: Very large numbers of FO items/charges can push the accounting document beyond the 999-line threshold; in such cases the system automatically splits into multiple accounting documents for a single MIRO posting. Plan batching accordingly.
- Performance and usability: Large item lists impact processing and review; use appropriate layouts/variants and aggregate where feasible
