3831899 - Error "ILM policy does not exist for business partner; see long text.998XXXXXXX" encountered in the app Manage Archiving Variants

Manage Archiving Variants encountered an error "ILM policy does not exist for business partner; see long text.998XXXXXXX" when deleting Business Partner when deleting General Data via the ILM Process.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

1. Open the app Manage Archiving Variants.
2. Navigate to the Rule CA_BUPA.
3. Schedule the run for the Business Partner using the Schedule Archiving Jobs.
4. Checks the Logs from the Manage Archiving Jobs and check the Application logs.

The condition Filters defined in the SSCUI "Maintain ILM Policies and Rules" does not have the Condition Filter Value assigned to it.

• Follow below steps for maintaining Condition Filters in Manage Your Solution' app:

1. 1. Open 'Manage Your Solution' app.
   2. Navigate to 'Configure Your Solution'.
   3. Search for the ID '500684'.
   4. Choose configuration activity '106666- Maintain ILM Policies and Rules'.
   5. Select the Policy Category Residence Rule.
   6. Select the Audit Area "BUPA_DP"
   7. Select the ILM Object "CA_BP"
   8. Select the Policy -> Click the Condition Fields
   9. If the Condition Field "APPL_NAME" is maintained.
   10. Then select the Condition field and navigate to the Condition Field Values Tab.
   11. Once in that tab maintain both "BUP" and "BUB" as the for the above mentioned Condition field.
   12. Once done make the Policy Live.
   13. Follow the steps 5 -13 again for Retention Rule as well.

• In case while using SAP Central Business Configuration (CBC) :

1. 1. Log on to the project experience in SAP Central Business Configuration.
   2. Select the relevant project.
   3. Navigate to the configurations activity tab.
   4. Search for the configuration activity '106666- Maintain ILM Policies and Rules'
   5. Select the Policy Category Residence Rule.
   6. Select the Audit Area "BUPA_DP"
   7. Select the ILM Object "CA_BP"
   8. Select the Policy -> Click the Condition Fields
   9. If the Condition Field "APPL_NAME" is maintained.
   10. Then select the Condition field and navigate to the Condition Field Values Tab.
   11. Once in that tab maintain both "BUP" and "BUB" as the for the above mentioned Condition field.
   12. Once done make the Policy Live.
   13. Follow the steps 5 -13 again for Retention Rule as well.

• Once all the steps are performed as mentioned above.
• Re-run the Job in the Test mode first then in the Production mode by the app Manage Archiving Variants.
