3832004 - How to Perform a Fuzzy Search for a Bill of Exchange (BoE) Number?

Symptom

How can I find a Bill of Exchange (BoE) when I don't know the complete BoE number? This article explains how to use fuzzy search methods, such as wildcards or the "contains" operator, to locate a BoE with only a partial number.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the relevant transaction screen where you manage Bills of Exchange.

  2. Open the BoE selection screen which labeled "Add BoE List".

  3. You have two methods for a fuzzy search:

Method 1: Using Wildcards In the "Bill of Exchange (Package) Number" field, type the partial number surrounded by asterisks.

    • Example: To find a BoE number that contains the digits "717", enter *717*.

Method 2: Using the "Contains" Operator Select the "Contains" operator from the search options, then enter 717 in the field. The system will return all BoE numbers that contain "717".
