3832038 - Syntax error when mapping description ends with Japanese character '能' in Designer - SAP Data Services

Symptom

  • A job fails only when a mapped column's Description text ends with the Japanese character "能". If "能" appears anywhere else (not at the end), the job runs without error.
  • Error message appears: "PAR-010102: Syntax error at line <...>: ... found expecting <')', ','>. 1 error(s), 0 warning(s). Check and fix the syntax and retry the operation."
  • The failure occurs immediately after running the job that includes the affected Query transform mapping.
