DRTM Master Data Purge fails - completed with errors 

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Go to Admin Center > Data Retention Management;
2. In Manual Data Purge, click in Create New Purge Request;
3. In Purge type select DRTM Onboarding 2.0 Purge/ DRTM Master Data Purge;
4. Select your user to be purged and the objects to be purged.
5. Add the approver and execute the purge;
6. In purge monitor, you'll see a purge completed with error request.
7. View results >> Download csv >> Employment data purge failed. Please check server log or create a ticket.

NOTE: Confirm that the user status in data inspector = "d"

1. The user included in the purge request is Onboardee (status = "d") — meaning they are not yet active in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) but exist in the system as Onboardee records.
2. For users of this type, the Deduction object only supports View access. Edit and Delete operations — including deletion triggered by a DRTM Master Data Purge — are not supported for Onboardee users. This is a known legacy behavior enforced at the application layer.
3. Deduction data purge is supported only for users who are fully active in Employee Central (EC). Users who exist solely as Onboardee records and have not yet been activated in EC are outside the supported scope of the Deduction data purge functionality.
4. This is not related to any permission misconfiguration on the purge requestor or approver side — the restriction is enforced at the module level regardless of RBP permissions granted.

This is expected system behavior as of the current product release. There is no configuration change or workaround available to bypass this restriction while the user remains in Onboardee status.

To address this requirement, we recommend the following:

1. Submit an Enhancement Request via the SAP Influence page. If the request is reviewed and deemed valid by the product team, it will be evaluated for potential inclusion in a future release.
