3832118 - rsspmsg scripts fail with "SQL Anywhere Error -131: Syntax error" when loaded into eRSSD — SAP Replication Server

Symptom

Running rsspmsg1.sql or rsspmsg2.sql against an RS using an embedded RSSD (eRSSD) produces errors such as:

SQL Anywhere Error -131: Syntax error near 'Passage' on line 48 (Watcom SQL)
SQL Anywhere Error -131: Syntax error near 'Vous' on line 6 (Watcom SQL)
SQL Anywhere Error -131: Syntax error near 'Es' on line 5 (Watcom SQL)

The errors occur regardless of:

  • RS character set
  • Whether scripts are run via RS gateway (connect to rssd) or directly against the eRSSD
  • Whether the -Jutf8 isql flag is used
