3832404 - Unable to Deactivate the Standard Sales Contract Document Type

Symptom

When trying to deactivate the standard document type CQ, an error Document type must be active to be set as default is triggered.

Environment

  • SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2.
  • SAP Sales Cloud Version 2.
  • SAP Service Cloud Version 2. 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the System Settings.
  2. Go to All Settings and search for the Sales Contracts.
  3. Click on the Document Type under this sales contract.
  4. There is standard document type CQ which is in active status and been set as default.
  5. Click to uncheck the active option for this standard document type CQ.
  6. An error Document type must be active to be set as default is triggered.

Cause

You need to 1st mark any other custom document type as default and then will allow you to deactivate the standard document type.

Resolution

  1. Go to the System Settings.
  2. Go to All Setting and search for Sales Contracts.
  3. Click on the Document Type under this sales contract.
  4. Select custom document type ZSC (where ZSC represent any custom document type) and click to set it as default.
  5. Once you set ZSC as default, it will remove the default option from standard document type CQ.
  6. Now you will be able to deactivate the standard document type CQ.
