3832576 - Incorrect Hire Date on Compensation Insights

• Compensation Insights does not respect the Employment Details Hire date.
• Compensation Insights retrieving the incorrect Hire Date of employee.

1. Open People Profile 
2. Go to Compensation Information;
3. Click Generate Insights;
4. Review the generated Compensation Insights summary and observe that the text states that the employee joined the company on a different date than the actual Hire Date maintained in Employment Details.

By design, Compensation Insights uses the originalStartDate field from the Employment Information entity to generate insights related to an employee's joined/hire date.

• The Start Date and End Date fields of Employment Information are not considered for this purpose. Only the originalStartDate field is used.
• If the Date Field / originalStartDate in Employment Information is disabled, no value is available to the insights engine. The generated summary therefore falls back to other available dates, such as position/job start dates, which can result in an incorrect joined/hire date being displayed.

Note:

• Date Field / originalStartDate : the employee has been working for the company before, enter the original start date of the employment. 

1. On Manage Business Configuration (BCUI);
2. Go to Employment Information;
3. Enable the originalStartDate field;
4. Grant the required field-level (RBP) read/write permission for the originalStartDate field to the relevant user role(s).
5. Populate the correct value in the originalStartDate field for the affected employees in Employment Information.
6. Re-open Compensation Information and click Generate Insights.

Once these steps are completed, the insight should be generated with the correct joined/hire date.
