3832800 - "Waiting for External process" dialog when logging in Analysis Office

• A dialog box "Waiting for External process" appears every time Analysis Office is launched and the user logs in to system.
• It appears that Analysis Office is waiting for the connection to SAC.

SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office, SAP Analytics Cloud Edition

1. Start Excel.
2. Open an Analysis Office workbook
3. Go to Analysis ribbon > Prompt.
4. Enter login credentials.
5. Observe the recurring "Waiting for External process" dialog.

The behavior is by design for SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office, SAP Analytics Cloud Edition:

SAC authentication is mandatory before accessing any connection, and the connection dialog cannot be suppressed.

1. Confirm the installed edition via File > Analysis > About Analysis: if it is SAP Analytics Cloud Edition, the SAC authentication prompt is expected and cannot be disabled.
2. If dialog suppression is required, it is necessary to install and use SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office, Standard Edition, which can connect directly to the backend system without mandatory SAC authentication.
3. Obtain the AO Standard Edition installer from the download page: https://help.sap.com/docs/SUPPORT_CONTENT/sapao/3361385442.html.
