3832847 - Different Inheritance behavior of field Assignment (ZUONR) between Standard and Custom Assignment Rule in Advanced Foreign Currency Valuation - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When running Advanced Foreign Currency Valuation with standard Account Assignment Rule VALN, Assignment (ZUONR) field is filled for Open Item (OIM) G/L accounts, and is empty for non-OIM G/L accounts. 

However, when a custom rule is created by copying from VALN in SSCUI 104827 - Define Rules for Determining Account Assignments in G/L Processes, Assignment field is empty for both cases.

When changing Inheritance rule for Assignment field in SSCUI 104827 to Always from Original Object, Assignment field is filled for both cases, which is also different from SAP standard rule VALN.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Go to SSCUI 104827 - Define Rules for Determining Account Assignments in G/L Processes.
2. Copy from Assignment rule VALN to new rule.
3. Run Advanced Foreign Currency Valuation from the Schedule General Journal Entries app.
4. Assignment field is not filled for Open Item Managed G/L accounts.

The difference is caused by specific logic for the Assignment (ZUONR) field only apply to SAP standard rule VALN. For Open-Item management (OIM) G/L account, Inheritance rule of this field is set to Always from Original Object even if it is set as Always no assignment in SSCUI 104827. The logic was introduced to prevent regression issue after Assignment was introduced as one optional account assignment. Custom rule, even if copied from VALN, will have the same Inheritance behavior between OIM and non-OIM G/L accounts.

At the moment, it is not possible for custom Assignment rule to replicate the Inheritance behavior of Assignment fields of Assignment rule VALN, where there is a different Inheritance logic between Open Item Management (OIM) G/L accounts and non-Open Item Management (OIM) G/L accounts. If your requirement is to maintain separate Inheritance logic for OIM and non-OIM accounts, the following actions are recommended :
