3832967 - Cannot restrict Post action while allowing create/save in Cash Journal app (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition)

• Requirement to restrict the Post functionality in the Cash Journal app.
• Users should be able to create and save Cash Journal transactions but should not be allowed to post them.
• Another user should have full authorization and be able to post transactions saved by others.
• No authorization object, restriction field, or business role setting identified to control the Post action separately at the user/role level.

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
• Cash Journal (Public Cloud)

1. Open the Cash Journal app.
2. Assign or review a business role that contains the catalog SAP_FIN_BC_GL_CASHJE_PC and check Maintain Restrictions.
3. Attempt to configure permissions to allow create/save but prevent Post.
4. Observe that users with Write (Edit) access can create, edit, and post; users without Write access can only display.

• The Cash Journal app differentiates only between Display and Edit (Write) permissions; there is no intermediate permission level to allow create/save while restricting Post.

1. Review the business role containing catalog SAP_FIN_BC_GL_CASHJE_PC and its Maintain Restrictions settings.
2. Note that available options are limited to Write = Unrestricted (create/edit/post) or Write = No Access (display only); separating Post from create/save is not supported in release 2608.
3. Acknowledge this as standard product behavior for the Cash Journal app.
4. If preventing posting is mandatory, assign display-only access to specific users and have posting performed by designated users with Write access. The requested split (create/save without post) is currently not achievable.
5. For a product enhancement to enable separate control of the Post action, submit feedback via the Customer Influence portal: Customer Influence.
