3833402 - Shipping point in STO is determined by plant instead of storage location despite configurtion settings in SSCUI 102387

Symptom

  • In a stock transport order, the Shipping tab shows a shipping point determined by plant, although an issuing storage location is entered that should derive a different shipping point via SSCUI 102387 (Assign Shipping Points According to Storage Location).
  • SSCUI 102387 appears not to be considered in the STO scenario.
  • In the “My Purchase Orders Due for Delivery” app, the STO appears with selection parameter as plant-based shipping point but not under the expected storage-location-based shipping point.
  • It is unclear whether shipping point determination uses the receiving storage location or the issuing storage location.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the app 'Create Purchase Order - Advanced' and choose the document type for stock transport order with delivery.
  2. Enter vendor, material, plant, and an issuing storage location.
  3. Navigate to the Shipping tab.
  4. Observe that the system determines a shipping point based on plant rather than the expected storage location assignment from SSCUI 102387.
  5. Open the “My Purchase Orders Due for Delivery” app.
  6. Select the expected storage-location-based shipping point and observe the STO is not listed; select the plant-determined shipping point and observe the STO is listed.

Cause

The rule in SSCUI 102385 (Define Rules for Determination of Shipping Point) is set to plant-specific for the relevant delivery type, so storage location is not part of the determination criteria and SSCUI 102387 is not evaluated.

Resolution

  1. In SSCUI 102385 (Define Rules for Determination of Shipping Point), change the rule for the relevant delivery type (for example, NL) to include Storage Location in the determination criteria (Storage-Location-Specific Shipping Point Determination).
  2. In SSCUI 102387 (Assign Shipping Points According to Storage Location), maintain the correct storage location-to-shipping point assignments for the supplying plant.
  3. Ensure the STO item has the correct storage location maintained; SSCUI 102387 reads the item storage location for determination.
  4. Save the configuration and test by creating or updating an STO, then verify in the Shipping tab and in the “My Purchase Orders Due for Delivery” app that the expected storage-location-based shipping point is used.
