3833560 - PlannedHoursAndMinutes and RecordedHoursAndMinutes fields are empty in Employee Time Sheet Report

In report on Employee Time Sheet, the fields plannedHoursAndMinutes and RecordedHoursAndMinutes are empty.

1. Create a report on Employee Time Sheet to compare planned versus recorded working time.
2. Add the fields PlannedWorkingTime, RecordedWorkingTime, plannedHoursAndMinutes, and RecordedHoursAndMinutes to the report.
3. Run the report and observe that plannedHoursAndMinutes and RecordedHoursAndMinutes are empty while PlannedWorkingTime and RecordedWorkingTime (minutes) are populated.

This is the standard behaviour. The plannedHoursAndMinutes and RecordedHoursAndMinutes fields in Employee Time Sheet object are all transient. So the values are not saved in DB, but generated in runtime. 

When you go to Configure Object Definitions for the Employee Time Sheet object, you can click on the Details button for plannedHoursAndMinutes and RecordedHoursAndMinutes fields. There you see a Transient switch which for those is set to Yes.

It is not possible to report on transient fields. 

Workaround 1 — Use Non-Transient Fields on the Employee Time Sheet Object
Report directly on the Employee Time Sheet data source using the following non-transient fields:

- PlannedWorkingTime
- RecordedWorkingTime

These fields are persistently stored in DB and can be used in Story reports without additional configuration.

Workaround 2 — Use Calculated Columns in Analytics
It is possible to replicate the expected output by creating calculated columns within the analytics report itself to derive the required values. See Also KBA 3681177
