2714144 - Instance Sync | How to enable data artifacts sync between instances?

Symptom

  • Unable to sync either User and Background Data in Provisioning;
  • Unable able to sync data artifacts;
  • Why can we sync only settings artifacts, but not data artifacts?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go through Admin Center > Manage Permission Roles;
  2. Select the permission that gives access to this user and edit it;
  3. Under Manage Instance Synchronization > Check either Sync User Data and Sync Background Data;
  4. Go to the source instance and try to run a sync;
  5. Still, user isn't able to see these data artifacts in Instance Sync Wizard.

Cause

Data Artifacts from Instance Sync are not supported.

Resolution

From b2211, the Data Artifacts from Instance Sync tool  are not supported.

Workarounds for copying below artificats  :

Artifact Name

  1. Background Data   ->  Using  Export and Import Extended User Information
  2. Goals -> Goal exporting help portal
  3. Succession Management Positions  -> Using  MDF Export and Import
  4. User Data ->  Using Employee Export and  Import
