3446565 - The system defaults a few hours course to an 8 hours class

After creating a Instructor-Led course (ILT), when scheduling a class, the system defaults it to an 8-hour class.

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. Go to SAP SuccessFactors Learning Administration and then go to Learning Activities > Items >
2. Click "Add New" >
3. Enter the required information:
   • Item Classification: Instructor Lead
   • Item Classification: [variable]
   • Item Type: [variable]
   • Item ID: [variable]
4. In the "Instructor Led Course" section, you will see the fields Number of Days* and Hours per Day*. Note the default values.

Note: The field "Duration" in section "Course Overview" is the result of "Number of Days x Hours per Day", and will be automatically populated by the system.

Note 2: After the ILT Item creation, the fields Number of Days* and Hours per Day* will not be displayed in the Item Details tab, just the "Duration" with the result.

When creating an ILT item, you will see two options regarding the classes agenda: Number of Days* and Hours per Day*. These two fields are required and will reflect on the item agenda for class creation. Their default values are 1 (day) and 8 (hours).

The class segment duration is set according to the duration time maintained in the Agenda Template of the item. And the agenda duration and number of days is set according to the fields Number of Days* and Hours per Day* set in item creation.

Depending on the time entered in Number of Days* and Hours per Day*, the system will automatically create the agenda template, from which the admin schedule classes.

In time, changes in Agenda Template class duration will reflect on new schedule classes. However, changes in the Item Details tab will not reflect on the agenda nor classes. This is documented in the KBA 2371113 - Class duration not correct in Learning.
