3458978 - How to Add New Input Product in a Production Order In Preparation

You are trying to add new Input Product to a Production Order that is In Preparation, but you cannot find any way to do that.

1. Navigate to the Production Control work center. 
2. Go to the Production Orders view. 
3. Find and select the relevant Production Order.
4. Click Edit.
5. Go to the Products tab and then to the Input Products sub-tab.
6. You can see there is no possibility to add row in the Production Order.

1. The function you are looking for is not available. You cannot add Input Material to a Production Order In Preparation or otherwise. In the KBA '2618917 - Input Product Added Manually Missing in Supply Task' you referenced, it is mentioned that "...In a production proposal you have manually added the Input Product ABC which is not maintained in the standard BoM...". Hence, there was nothing mentioned regarding adding input Material to Production Order, but Production Proposal.
2. If you want to manually add Input Material outside of the Production BOM, you have to do this in the Production Proposal. It is also possible to add Input Material during the Confirmation of the Task, but this will not be visible in the Production Order.

The resolution provided in the mentioned KBA only ensure the Input Material you have manually added to the Production Proposal is included in the Supply Task, when same is created. The system is working as designed and there is no fault found with the KBA 2618917 - Input Product Added Manually Missing in Supply Task.

To add Input Product to the Production Proposal (outside Production BOM):

1. Go to the Supply Control work center.
2. Go to the Process Production Proposals view.
3. Find and select the relevant Production Proposal.
4. Click the Edit button.
5. Navigate to the Products tab, and then to the Input Product sub-tab.
6. Click Add Row.
7. Add the Input Product per your requirement.
8. Perform Save and then Release the Proposal.
