Symptom
Unable to add additional columns to an existing dataset using the reimport option in SAP Analytics Cloud.
Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud (2024.15.11)
Reproducing the Issue
- Log in to the SAC.
- Navigate to the dataset section.
- Create a new dataset by uploading an Excel file.
- Save the newly created dataset.
- Add a new column to the original Excel file.
- Attempt to re-import the updated Excel file into the existing dataset.
- Observe that you are unable to import the updated Excel file.
Cause
This behavior is by design.
Resolution
Currently reimporting a file for an existing dataset only support the case that the new file and the origin file have the same columns (number of columns and column names): Reimport Data into a Dataset | SAP Help Portal
