3622129 - Story Report Import Failing due to Zscaler firewall

Symptom

-Story Import does not work on SuccessFactors.

-SuccessFactors Error on UI from Import:

         Import Status: FAILED
Unable to import Story reports. Please try again after few minutes. If the issue persists, contact your system administrator or Technical Support.
Import Statistics: Error: 1

-From SAP Analytics Cloud the status show that it fails with: 

        "status": "FAILED",
        "message": "The resource does not exist, or you do not have permission to read it\n",

- The Network logs shows a red text with upload? name=reportCenterImport... > Preview window shows "Sorry, you don't have permission to visit this site.  Website blocked.  The resource you are attempting to access has been blocked in accordance with the access policy your business line has selected"

Environment

  • Product: SAP SuccessFactors People Analytics
  • Framework: SAP Analytics Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open SuccessFactors Page.
  2. Go to Report Center.
  3. Create a new Story Report and Save it.
  4. Select the newly create Story Report and click "Export" (Or just Import the existent .package file).
  5. Now from "Report Center" > Click "Import" > Select the .package.
  6. Notice the Error: 
    1. Import Status: FAILED
    2. Unable to import Story reports. Please try again after few minutes. If the issue persists, contact your system administrator or Technical Support.
    3. Import Statistics: Error: 1

Cause

  • Infrastructure: Network solutions with outbound traffic protection
  •  The Response Header server Zscaler/6.2 (ZScaler) is associated with network solutions deployed to protect outbound traffic.
  • After HAR file analysis and Network logs, confirming that the issue originates from the network configuration on the customer’s end.

Resolution

  1. Engage the internal IT Network Team to review and adjust the firewall settings.  Request them to unblock URL or file type (.package or .acn)
  2. Ensure that the relevant URLs and file types (e.g., .package) are not blocked by the network protection solutions.
  3. Refer to the following for guidance on allow-listing URLs:

After making the adjustments, retry the import process to confirm the resolution.
