Symptom
Unintended creation and modification of configurations in the SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 tenant during the execution of the Data Transfer Tool.
Configurations of objects not selected for transfer, such as leads, opportunities, accounts, contacts, and business partners, were copied from the V1 tenant to the V2 tenant.
The system contains incorrect configurations requiring extensive manual work to remove.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
- Execute the Data Transfer Tool in the SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 environment.
- Select one instance each for Activity Task, Appointment, and Ticket.
- Observe that configurations of other objects, such as leads, opportunities, accounts, contacts, and business partners, are unintentionally copied from the V1 tenant to the V2 tenant.
Cause
- Consulting questions.
Resolution
1. Is it possible to activate a restore point from before the data transfer run ?
1.1 There is no possibility restore to an earlier state from the data transfer tool. Both with respect to data and configurations.
1.2 Please check with support team if V2 tenant can be refreshed to an earlier state.
2. Is it possible to obtain detailed logging of all changes that were made as a result of the data transfer run ?
2.1 It is not possible from SAP side to obtain detailed logging of ALL configuration and data changes made in the tenant from the DTT tool perspective.
2.2 Once the initial load is started from V1 tenant, delta changes (any modification/new instance creation) on V1 is automatically transferred to connected V2 tenant.
2.3 From V2 side it can be checked with the concerned BO team through support whether such information is available or not.
3. Are there any other options available through which SAP can support us in reverting to the pre-transfer state ?
3.1 One can disconnect the V1 and V2 tenant and reset the status on V1 tenant. Refer https://me.sap.com/notes/0002315326 for details on how to request from V1.
3.2 Please check with support team if V2 tenant can be refreshed to an earlier state.
