3729039 - SAC stories display inconsistencies across devices and resolutions

• Reports built on responsive pages do not display properly on desktop devices.
• Users must adjust browser resolution to 67% and display resolution to 150% to view the report correctly.
• Users are required to scroll to the bottom and then scroll to the right to see columns on the right side of the report.
• Responsive pages do not automatically adjust content as expected.

SAP Analytics Cloud - Story Design & Visualizations

1. Log in to SAC.
2. Open the report.
3. Observe that the report does not display properly on desktop devices.
4. Adjust the browser resolution to 67% and display resolution to 150%.
5. Scroll to the bottom and then scroll to the right to view the columns on the right side of the report.

Responsive pages automatically adjust the width of content to match the browser width, causing widgets to expand or shrink horizontally as the browser is resized. However, widget height does not resize with the browser height due to internal sizing rules designed to maintain readability and proportion.

If a table on the story page was optimized for a 1920×768 display resolution, for example, this may result in display inconsistencies at other resolutions.

1. Adjust the browser zoom to 67% and the display scaling to 150% to achieve a net effect equivalent to no scaling (67% × 150% ≈ 100%), ensuring the page layout appears optimal at a 1920×768 resolution.
2. For a more reliable solution, use a Canvas page instead of a responsive page.

• Set explicit Size & Position values for each widget.
• Place the table at the bottom of the page and configure the following settings:

a. Width: 100%

b. Height: 200 px

c. Bottom: 0 px

• This configuration ensures the table fills the bottom area of the page regardless of browser scaling.
