3810924 - Behavior when Job Information and Compensation workflows are initiated simultaneously

Symptom

  • Deleting Compensation Information and submitting for approval results in approval being completed, but compensation amounts remain and are not removed.
  • The behavior occurs when Job Information and Compensation Information are selected in the same change so that both workflows are initiated together.
  • No error message is displayed.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Start a change in Employee Central where both Job Information and Compensation Information are selected to be included in the same request.
  2. In Compensation Information, delete the compensation values (for example, set amounts to blank or remove entries).
  3. Submit the combined change for approval and complete the workflow approval process.
  4. After approval, check Compensation Information and observe that amounts remain and were not deleted.

Cause

  • A single operation can only initiate a workflow for one element. When Job Information and Compensation Information are included in the same change, the system may only initiate the workflow for one element, which leads to unexpected behavior such as amounts not being deleted.

Resolution

Trigger job information and compensation workflows separately in separate operations.
